Information for Patients

If you are on this site it is assumed that you have a sleep problem for which you are seeking help. You have come to the right place. In order to assist you with your efforts to identify clinicians that provide Behavioral Sleep Medicine services (in general) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) (in specific), the Penn Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program started an initiative several years ago to identify such clinicians’ world-wide. That effort was successful as more than 500 providers were identified and their professional information was made available to the public via a website based viewable / downloadable spreadsheet. This year, we have been able to update the directory to make it more user friendly for both patients and clinicians.

Please note that all providers are free to list their practices in the Penn Directory. Being listed in the directory is not an endorsement by the Penn BSM program and we cannot assure the level of experience of each provider. This said, the directory contains information on each provider’s credentials and training background and we hope that such details will help you decide which provider is best for you. Finally, not all cities (and sadly not all states) have BSM or CBT-I providers. While we’re working hard to remedy this, you may want to communicate with individuals in the directory about options (i.e., un-listed but known local providers, remote access treatment, use of Internet tools or programs, etc.).
