Details

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with 15 years of clinical experience. Although I work with clients facing all kinds of life stressors, I specialize in and particularly enjoy helping clients with insomnia or anxiety-related sleep difficulties. I currently practice in Philadelphia, PA, but hold a PSYPACT interstate license to practice teletherapy in many other states.

As a cognitive-behavioral therapist, I was trained in CBT-I 10 years ago at the University of Pennsylvania to treat primary insomnia as well as sleep difficulties that are related to other life problems such as posttraumatic stress.  I practiced CBT-I for years with veterans with posttraumatic difficulties at the VA Medical Center, which gave me an appreciation of creating genuine therapeutic partnerships with my clients that help facilitate understanding of sleep and create positive change. My general approach to therapy is goal-oriented and flexible, personalized to the specific needs of my clients. In addition to CBT-I, I am also trained and experienced in Imagery Rehearsal therapy (IRT) for treating nightmares.

In addition to my private practice work, I have experience with conducting both in person and telehealth CBT-I groups. Furthermore, I have published peer reviewed articles and presented on clinical research in the area of sleep and nightmare problems.

I accept some insurance plans.
