The Children's Behavioral Sleep Disorders Clinic specializes in diagnosing and treating children with behavioral sleep disorders. The clinic is directed by Brett Kuhn, Ph.D., the state's only psychologist certified in behavioral sleep medicine who dedicates his entire practice to children and adolescents. Behavioral Sleep Medicine (BSM) is the branch of health psychology and clinical sleep medicine which studies the relationship between psychological, learning and conditioning factors and the development and maintenance of sleep disorders. BSM is dedicated to the prevention, assessment and treatment of sleep disorders through the application of established principles of behavior change.

The Children's Behavioral Sleep Disorders Clinic uses both research-based and novel treatment protocols, some of which were developed by our own staff. These may include behavioral and/or environmental changes such as altering the bedroom environment, modifying the sleep/wake schedule, altering parent/child interactions, treating daytime behavioral problems or mental health problems that may be affecting sleep. A specific treatment program will be adapted to each child's particular sleep problem and family situation. With patient adherence, most childhood sleep disturbances can be resolved quickly through outpatient care and without medication.

The Behavioral Sleep Disorders Clinic treats a variety of conditions, including:
